Saxophonist George Sax roots from a long tadition of African Jazz saxophonists. Whilst studying Fine arts at WITS he associated himself with highly profiled jazz musicians at one of South Africas premier jazz venues like Bass Line in old Melville and Rumours in the infamous Rockey str. In the true spirit of jazz these old-school masters shared thier knowledge of the saxophone and most importantly the art of Jazz! As Georges musical experience grew he was regularily invited to sit in on live sessions with these great saxophonists and jazz players.

Sax believes that through his genorous mentors he recieved an education in musicianship that would rival the great Berklee College! His Repertoire seems limitless ranging from underground house clubs to corporate functions and festivals. He provides a uniquely personal musical experience that satisfies and inspires everyone that hears his music.George Sax is currently based in Cape Town and performs across Southern Africa, he is looking forward to performing a summer in Europe later this year.
